Finding rest in your heavy laden labor

Mat 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
On the outside, this seems like this verse for the blue-collar workers only. Those who labor and are tired from the heavy workload that they do.
Now, when you look at the actual definitions of the original words, you will also find:
Labor: To grow weary, tired, or exhausted.
If you’re not seeking “positive thoughts only” and actually see what’s going on in the world, it can make you weary, tired, and downright exhausted.
Heavy Laden: To place a burden on, to carry a heavy load of burden.
To those who have a deep heart of care for the world, watching the turmoil going on is a burden. To some, it can be depleting or debilitating.
Jesus is saying, Come to me, and I will give you rest. He will give you comfort.
Here’s the thing. He’s not asking you to come to Him when your load is heavy enough, when you think it’s a big enough deal and you can’t hold it any longer. He’s asking you to come now with any load, any weight, any burden.
Doing this as an everyday practice when all seems well, programs your mind to seek Him first when all seems too much. When we don’t seek his comfort in the easy things, when it gets hard, we just follow our programming and rely on ourselves.
In reality, when experiencing new heavy loads or new burdens to carry, we don’t have the experience on how to do it on our own. That’s why we come to Jesus, because He’s carried every load, every burden, and all sin for us.
Exercise coming to Jesus every day for everything, seeking His comfort and not your own, and you will see His favor in giving you rest.
