God’s Favor Isn’t Earned—It’s Embraced

I have been doing some study on the favor of God and what that looks like today.
My conclusion is that God has given His complete favor to everyone who received His Son as Lord and Saviour.
You cannot earn more favor. He does not hold back favor; no one deserves favor than another, because we’re all undeserving of it.
So why does it seem like some have more favor than others?
Why do some see faster transformation in Christ?
Why is it that things seem to work out more for some than others?
Because they have opened their hearts and minds to receive the fullness of that favor.
In A.W. Tozer’s book, The Pursuit of God, he explains that many believe their sanctification is something that must take years or decades to happen. He claims that’s a lie that hold us back from receiving the full favor of God that produces an immediate and fast transformation.
The thing holding our transformation back, keeping us in the flesh and not being renewed towards the image of God, is the simple practice of coddling our emotions.
By protecting ourselves from having to face who we are, by not distinguishing the difference between who we are and the image we put out there, by not seeing that log in our own eyes, we are quenching the Holy Spirit.
No one single person has more favor of God on their lives than another. It’s just that we choose not to receive that full favor. We harden our hearts. We close our minds. We limit the amount of favor God can have in us because we believe we’re undeserving. The problem is you’re failing to understand. We’re all undeserving. You are not unique in this. You are not a special case.
The favor of God is His patience, grace, and mercy He shows us. It’s the sacrifice of His only begotten Son so that we can be reconciled. We have the full favor of God when you receive Christ. The question is, how much of it are you willing to receive? Some stop at salvation. Others seek the adventure of seeking His favor every day.
If you’ve not read it, this is a great book.
