Nothing new under the sun…civil war coming?

by | Dec 4, 2022

As we’re entering the peak of the “we” swing we see in history that the chance of ideological civil wars increases exponentially.

In the last peak in the west, we saw Nazi Germany rise and WWII happen. 80 years before that was the American Civil war, and 80 years before that the American Revolutionary war.

As far as we can see there doesn’t seem to be anything that prevents or delays these peaks from happening. About every 80 years like clockwork the peak happens.

However, what I have noticed looking back on history is that there is one thing that determines the intensity of the peak.

One factor is common for all societies, kingdoms, or countries that didn’t survive their peak of “we”.

Sin.

Yep.

It’s that simple.

Sin destroys civilizations.

I know, you’re thinking “Not another religious excuse, we want something real, not your religious mumbo jumbo”.

Yeah, I’m not too worried about what you think on the topic, more than I am looking at the truth.

If you’ve not done so in a while, take a look at the 10 commandments.

???? Thou shall have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)
???? Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images. (Exodus 20:4-6)
???? Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. (Exodus 20:7)
???? Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy. (Exodus 20:8-11)
???? Honor your father and mother. (Exodus 20:12)
???? Thou shalt not murder. (Exodus 20:13)
???? Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
???? Thou shalt not steal. (Exodus 20:15)
???? Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. (Exodus 20:16)
???? Thou shall not covet your neighbour. (Exodus 20:17)

These commandments (sins) are an issue in every society. We know this because the Bible says explicitly we’re all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God.

The difference is when society repents of these or embraces them.

We can see over and over, those civilizations that turn their back on God and ignore those 10 commandments, fall shortly afterwards.

They face “The wrath of God”.

Take some time, do your own research and you’ll see this is true.

Now take a look at where we are in North America.

???? We’ve become a pagan nation and worship celebrities as gods.
???? You can’t drive anywhere and not see statues of false gods.
???? Christianity is now embracing and celebrating sin.
???? The majority do not attend Church and honour God.
???? Children do not honour their parents and are defiant.
???? Society is now embracing murder and excusing it.
???? Infidelity is the #1 cause of divorce in North America.
???? Stealing is so common, it’s no longer a criminal offence.
???? Few take responsibility and blame others for their problems.
???? Keeping up with the Jones is completely normal.

It’s not hard to see the direction we’ve been going and where we’re heading.

The good news is we can turn this ship around and there’s only one way.

Its easy. Know who Jesus is. Accept Him in your life and then repent of your sins. Not only can this fix society and we will see the blessings of God, but you also get a reward that is much greater. Eternal life in the heavenly realm. That’s why some of us call the Bible the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

If the majority of the people in North America truly did this, you would see an undeniable shift in the direction North America takes.

And to think, it won’t take a bill, a politician, a law, or an act of congress to make it happen.

It takes you accepting the free gift from Jesus and repenting of your sins.

It takes us giving Him Lordship of our lives and following those commandments.

It takes us looking inward with His help to fix the problem, not blaming the world.
