“I am more concerned about what God wants of me than what I want of God.”
~Charlie Kirk
This is the key difference between Christianity and paganism or witchcraft.
The Greek gods were many so that each could serve your desires.
The spells and curses of witchcraft were all about getting what your heart desires most, even vengeance.
The God of the bible, Jesus Christ, is different in that He has already given us all that we need, and having already received, He wants to show His glory to the world.
So why does the world hate Christianity?
Because it sees our hypocrisy.
“God, if you’ll just…
- Give me that car
- Give me that house
- Give me that success
- Give me that wealth
- Give me that spouse
This list will never end of all the things we want God to give us, and we fail to ask, “God, if I could just…what would you have me do.”
One of Charlie’s favorite words was “Hineni,” Which is Hebrew and means, “Here I am, Lord. Transform me. Send me.” It’s a single word of posture of your heart and complete submission of yourself to serve Him, embracing His call for your life.
What will it take for us who call Jesus Lord and Savior to take this call seriously?
