The “personal relationship with Jesus” is a selfish narrative

I’m going to save this for whenever I hear someone say they’re a believer but don’t need to go to church to have a relationship with Jesus.
Yes, Jesus is there for you when you’re alone and need His strength. But that doesn’t mean that was God’s intention.
It’s our church family that keeps us on track, and accountable, and lifts us up.
The “personal relationship with Jesus” is a selfish narrative that goes with a selfish society.
Just compare old hymns with the current pop Christain worship songs and you’ll see that 90% of the new songs are about me and what ill do with Jesus and 90% of the hymns are about what Jesus does for us.
