Those who have power don’t necessarily have the authority
Those who have power don’t necessarily have the authority.
The reality is that those who have power only gain authority when the people give it to them.
Rulers of nations gain indispensable power to do what they want because the people gave them the authority to do so.
Usually, it’s because people want to usher in a new era. They want change. They’re tired of the old ways and want something new, so they give the authority to the people in power to do what’s needed to make that happen.
But there is always a problem with that…
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.”
~Lord Acton, 1887
Give a person enough power and it will corrupt them. They will do things against the will of the people, and over time they will lose authority over the people. Sometimes it just takes a while for people to clue in and take that authority back.
It’s when the person in power starts to lose their authority over the people that they become more tyrannical in nature.
In a desperate attempt to maintain their power, they create havoc within the people. Rather than the narrative being the power structure vs the people, it becomes the people vs the people.
Divide and conquer.
This is a tried and true misdirection technique that’s as old as time.
The serpent used it in the garden of Eden. While he had the power to deceive Adam and Eve, they gave him the authority of knowledge that day. When questioned about this transfer of authority from God to the serpent, Adam quickly turned on Eve and blamed her. The serpent gained great power and authority of knowledge in the eyes of the people that day and it’s haunted us ever since.
“That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 1:9 NKJV
It’s the same old trick used today to gain and maintain power and authority.
But as I said, there comes a time when the people in power lose their authority. The people are tired of lies and deception. Tired of being told what to do and how to do it. Tired of the rotten fruit that had been produced by the works of man.
So in general, people look to another leader. They give authority to them and we see what looks like a positive change. The political power goes back and forth, left and right, forward and backward, and we repeat the same problem approximately every 80 years as society slowly but surely descends into tyranny.
A wonderful, charismatic and passionate leader enters the stage and the majority cheer them on. The people give them great authority because they’re frustrated with the direction of civilization. And then we “rinse and repeat” as they grip tight to that power and authority.
And we repeat history. Tyranny keeps coming back over and over throughout history.
Why does this keep happening?
Because we keep giving authority to man, and as mentioned previously, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
And while we may forget that temporarily in our desire for change, deep down we all know this to be true. There is never a time when someone you have given authority to that has not taken advantage of that and disappointed you. It’s our sinful nature.
So what do we do about it? How do we prevent this from happening? How do we prevent tyranny?
It’s the most simple, yet hardest thing for us to do because we’re under the illusion that we have power and we want to keep it. The reality is, it’s always been the leaders of our societies that hold the power. What we have is the authority to whom we give that power.
At some point, and I believe in the near future, possibly within the lifetime of those alive today, we will be given a choice. A choice to remove authority from man to something else. Because we all know that man is corruptible by power, we will be asked to give all authority to something much bigger and more powerful than man.
This something will be what the bible refers to as the antichrist.
Now, this is pure speculation, because we simply cannot know the details until that time comes, but based on the direction we’re going with technology so fast, I believe it will be artificial intelligence built on the back of supercomputers operating on a cloud network around the world.
Why would I think such a thing?
Well, some believe that computers don’t desire power, so they’re not corruptable.
Some believe that computers only compute non-bias information, and therefore will be just.
Some believe computers are knowledgeable and wise without error and will save humanity from all our flaws.
But these are all lies and something worshipped like this is the antichrist in its very definition.
We’re made in the image of God, this resembles nothing like God.
As creations of God we have a soul, this has no soul.
We have a moral compass that helps guide us called the Holy Spirit, and computers have programming codes designed by man.
But it will be the answer people choose because you know, “Trust the science”.
It’s science. Why do you hate science? We don’t need a God with science. Use your logic.
“So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
Revelation 13:4 (NKJV)
“And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.”
Revelation 13:12 (NKJV)
“He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.”
Revelation 13:15 (NKJV)
So, do you see where giving authority to man leads?
We’re so corrupt and delusional based on the lies of the serpent that man will ultimately create the very thing that will cause great destruction over the earth. While we believe it will create peace and security, we will give it all power and authority.
But again, that’s for the delusional. The ones who didn’t listen to the warnings of those who gave all power and authority to Jesus Christ.
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
“Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.”
I Corinthians 15:24 (NKJV)
Understand, you have no authority over yourself. That’s a lie. We’re all influenced by something bigger than ourselves. We only have the authority to give to someone or something else when we see the old person or thing is corrupt and flawed.
While humanity goes back and forth on who it wants to have that authority, few actually give it all to Jesus Christ.
Giving all authority to man can only lead us to destruction. While we believe we’re giving authority to man, in reality, it’s given to the deceptive serpent in the garden.
Satan knows he’s only got a limited amount of time on earth, and during that time his mission is the destruction of those who bare the image of God. He has authority because man gave it to him in exchange for knowledge.
“And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.”
Luke 4:6 (NKJV)
So the question for you ultimately becomes, who do you give authority to?
Who do you trust with the future?
Who do you think will walk away the victor when man has only been able to cause death and destruction in their desire for power and authority?
