You must be humble and willing to learn from others

by | Dec 5, 2022

When you speak of God in a public setting, you must be open to scrutiny.

You have to be open to the fact that you got something wrong.

You must be humble and willing to learn from others.

But, if you believe that you hold the undeniable truth that you cannot compromise on, you must be able to give a solid defence and see that it can withstand the offence.

And that means being able to unapologetically wear the full armour of God.

As I’ve become very vocal in my beliefs in the last few years, I’ve had a few people question and challenge me on the things I’ve written. Some publically, some privately. Their intent is never to attack me, but instead to simply question or help me.

I’m very grateful to have those people in my life. They’ve challenged me to be stronger, more courageous, and be accurate with the foundation of truth.

Thank you to those who challenge me to be better.

Thank you to those who are brave enough to say “that doesn’t sound quite right” or “I think you got that verse or fact wrong” and come up with their own defence.

It is when we’re brave, open, and transparent in our communication and intentions that we become stronger in each other.

It is when we are closed, put up walls, or put blinders on that we become weak and cannot properly speak in God’s defence.

God has never called us to be weak. God has called those who take on His name to be bold, strong, committed, loving, and meek, and not to take his name on in vain.

I am a sinner

I am a sinner

I am a sinner. To some, this is an incorrect statement; it doesn't exist. To others, this is an empty statement, accepted and meaningless. To many, this is a shameful admission, a low view of self. And to the few, this is a statement of life. This statement is the...
