ZERO tolerance for spousal abuse

by | Mar 22, 2023

I want to be very clear.

I hold ZERO tolerance for anyone who believes the bible says you can beat and abuse your spouse.

There will be no debate on this issue.

Abusive men are weak and full of toxic femininity. These are not masculine men. They are possessed by the Jezebel spirit.

Abusive women are no different and can also be possessed by the Jezebel spirit. This is not a male/female issue. This is a masculinity/femininity issue that is infested with sin.

The Jezebel spirit is controlling, domineering, manipulative, and usually sexually immoral often using their sexuality as a way to control people.

While I leave room for various theologies and love a good debate between minds, there has to be a line that doesn’t get crossed.

I could see in this man’s previous comments that he was influenced by this spirit, but this comment told me all I needed to know.

I am far from a perfect husband. I fall short in many areas. I am not claiming to have the moral high ground here. But being the head of your house is not dominating over your wife by physical or mental force. You are complete as one and are to work together as one, each with specific and unique roles to play, and sometimes that’s difficult.

We treat people as we treat ourselves. If we feel poorly about ourselves, we tend to treat our families poorly. This man clearly hates himself, and I fear for his family as he uses the lie that the bible says it’s ok to beat his wife.

I felt the only solution was not to tolerate such discussions or fellowship with someone who believes this is sound doctrine and block this man.

Strength, Pride, and Weaknesses

Strength, Pride, and Weaknesses

Someone once told me, we do not have weaknesses. What we have are our strengths that are misused, underused, or abused. We can all see our main weaknesses; they're glaringly apparent to the point where we can acknowledge them. It's the hidden weaknesses, attached to...

Not in my ways Lord…but in yours

Not in my ways Lord…but in yours

This morning, I am reading in Galatians 1 as Paul is talking about a false gospel being preached. A gospel that pleases man and not God. He talks about his former ways of persecuting the church because of his Judaism beliefs at the time. He was zealous in the...

Hineni: Seeking The Favor Of God

Good morning, church, we’re going to switch things up a little this morning, and I want to open by addressing the recent events of Charlie Kirk's assassination, knowing it’s not an easy topic to start with for many reasons. My message this morning was written about a...
